Mission and objectives

The European Joint Master Degree program is to respond to the needs and the constraints of the current situation and market of Europe. The starting point for EMACIM project was that the development of the European knowledge society shouldn’t allow the maintenance of national, sectoral or social barriers, but rather overcome them if it is appropriate for the positive development.
It is aimed towards the Lisbon strategy for the Union to become the most competitive and dynamic knowledge-based economy in the world capable of sustainable economic growth with more and better jobs and greater social cohesion.
The two-year EMACIM program will provide the opportunities for graduates to gain knowledge and education in International Business and International management as well as Arts, Cultural experience and heritage, tourism being seen as a modern link between them.
The setup of the consortium reflects the different fields, interests and backgrounds to fulfill diversity of the MA program, i.e.: Finland – cultural experience, management and tourism, Greece – cultural heritage, Belgium and Poland – international business and fine arts, France – human sciences and arts, Portugal – social sciences and humanities.
The EMACIM curriculum will increase the competitiveness and employability of all the graduates and promote the entrepreneurial spirit among the arts and culture graduates as the single oriented education is no longer meeting the demands of the changing world and the targets of the EU as the knowledge based society.
The EMACIM degree program also offers the opportunity for international students to meet, establish networks and learn by experiencing different cultures during their study program.

The EMACIM study program is to provide new kind of understanding and opportunities for business and management students to develop more sensitive and culture-tailored approaches for doing business. On the other hand, it will help art and culture specialists to become more competitive in the labour market by developing their practical innovativeness, entrepreneurial spirit and management skills.
One of the most important reason behind the EMACIM project is to combine theoretical knowledge with its practical implementation. That’s why the EMACIM students will be encouraged to take up real tasks and to solve real problems, with
co-operation with cultural institutions in a given country.
